Codexa terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and PancakeStack Studios ("we", "us") about your use of the Codexa app and its services ("Codexa"). By creating an account or using Codexa you accept them, and our privacy policy. If you don't accept them, don't use Codexa.

1. What Codexa is

Codexa is a companion for trading card games: it scans cards, keeps your collection and decks, and has an assistant that answers rules and deck questions. Codexa is an unofficial fan app. It is not produced, endorsed, supported or affiliated with Wizards of the Coast, Bandai, Bandai Namco, Sunrise, The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, Creatures or Game Freak. Card names, images, game rules and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age in your country to agree to these terms, to use Codexa.
• Give us a real email and keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens with your account.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account).

3. The assistant's answers

The assistant's answers are generated by artificial intelligence. They can be incomplete or wrong. They are not official rulings, and the official rules, the tournament organizers and the judges always prevail. Don't rely on them for anything where a mistake matters to you. If an answer is wrong or inappropriate, report it with the Report button.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law or anyone's rights using Codexa;
• try to get into accounts, systems or data that aren't yours, or to break, overload or reverse engineer the service;
• use bots, scraping or automated access, or try to get around usage limits or the paywall;
• use the assistant to produce illegal, hateful, harassing or sexual content, or content that harms others;
• resell or redistribute Codexa or its content.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

5. Your content

Your collection, decks, questions and feedback remain yours. You let us store and process them only to run and improve Codexa, as the privacy policy describes. Feedback and reports you send can be used to improve Codexa without owing you anything.

6. Paid plans and purchases

• Some features may need a paid plan or a one-time purchase. Prices are shown before you buy, and payments are processed by the app store (Google Play or the App Store) under its own terms.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in the app store. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period stays active until it ends.
• Refunds are handled by the app store according to its refund policy. Except where the law says otherwise, payments are not refundable and periods already started are not prorated.

7. Changes, interruptions and closing down

• Codexa is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, add or remove features, games and content at any time, and the service may be interrupted or unavailable.
• We may stop offering Codexa, or PancakeStack Studios may cease operating, at any time and for any reason. We will try to give reasonable notice in the app when we can.
• If Codexa is discontinued, or PancakeStack Studios closes or ceases operating, we will not refund any money paid, including subscriptions, unused periods, one-time purchases or any other amount, to the fullest extent permitted by the law that applies to you. This does not take away any right your local consumer law gives you that cannot be waived.
• When Codexa closes, your data is deleted as the privacy policy describes.

8. No warranties

To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind about Codexa: not that it will be accurate, complete, reliable, secure or always available, nor that card recognition, prices or answers will be correct. Card prices are estimates from third parties and are not offers to buy or sell.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, PancakeStack Studios is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits, games or prizes, arising from your use of Codexa. Our total liability for any claim about Codexa is limited to the amount you paid us for Codexa in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 10 if you paid nothing. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

10. Ending this agreement

You can stop using Codexa and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if Codexa closes. Sections 5 to 9 and 11 continue after that.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When the change matters, the app will ask you to accept the new version before you keep using Codexa; if you don't accept it, you can delete your account. The version and date are at the top of this page.
